Volunteer Mediator at the Beaverton Center for Mediation and Dialogue.
Ten-week training for Zenger Farm staff members.
Based on Marshall Rosenbergs' book "Nonviolent Communication - A Language of Life."
Dates - Feb-May 2024
Offered in partnership with Tsipora Dimant, this training was designed to help participants leverage NVC consciousness and communication process to improve their mediation practice. Particularly, the training aimed at assisting the participants to build a solid foundation for the parties’ success, develop a more profound ability to empathize with themselves and the parties, navigate uncertainty and emotionally charged situations with increased confidence, and find a renewed purpose for their mediation practice
We are supporting the creation of self-organizing groups ("Pods") of NVC practitioners interested in working towards certification by CNVC.org.
In this online class, we explored how Nonviolent Communication (NVC) can help us connect with persons we believe are fundamentally different from us because of the groups they support, the ideas they espouse, and the things they say or do. At the end of the class, participants should experience more confidence in their ability to stay calm, speak authentically, listen without prejudice, and connect as human beings when engaging in polarizing conversations.
